The Swiss Front 2009

Erwin came for a visit from the UK and Fridolin from Bad Ragaz. We met at the Dietikon rail station and had a couple of beers on the balcony of our Swiss Front. After more than 30 years there were many stories to warm up! Finally we walked to a nearby Restaurant for dinner. We enjoyed the food, the wine and the Grapa. In between Erwin had an accident with his wine and made, to the amazement of the crowd, a cloth change in the middle of the Restaurant. An ugly sight but who cares! It was like in olden times. Crazy but Fun!

The celebration took pace in Biel at the "Residenz Au Lac". It was nice to meet people I never saw for the last 20 - 25 years. Marlis was the wife of my late godfather Hans, the brother of my father. Unfortunately Mami could not attend. The event was well organised and pleasant. The food excellent. Thanks again!

On the occasion of Florence's visit, we had to show her at least the glorious Swiss mountains. The Säntis (2580 m) is always a good choice for newcomers. She never boarded a cable train before (no such things in Ghana!) She was not very comfortable, specially when going over the pillars. The first steps out to the panorama platform made her feel dizzy and she aborted the climb to the summit! She nevertheless enjoyed it, a sort of! After lunch at the Panorama Restaurant, we descended and drove back via the Ricken Pass and the new Uetlibergtunnel. On the way Swiss Front, we had a drink at Mami's place. A good, day, fine weather but a bit chilly.

After more than 2 years I met the old gang again. Thanks to Kurt who arranged and, surprisingly, also sponsored this event! To my shame a have to admit that I made a mess out of the pictures. Most where blurred or otherwise fuk..d up! The gathering was great and should be repeated more often. I envy my friends a bit as they seem to be fit and very sportive.
